MISSION

Growing in love for God and one another as a community of faith existing for the evangelisation and welfare of New Addington.

BELIEFS

Castle Hill Church stands in the tradition of the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed and the Evangelical Alliance's Basis of faith.

VALUES

OBEDIENT TO JESUS' COMMISSION

The Church exists today because of those in previous generations who were obedient to Jesus and his Great Commission (Matt. 28). Whatever else the Church may be involved in, she is given the unique responsibility of making disciples of Jesus. Castle Hill Church is determined to play its part in fulfilling this mandate.

COMPELLED BY LOVE

Before Jesus sent his disciples out into the world, he commanded them to love God (Matt. 22) and love one another (Jn. 13). Christian love comes from a growing knowledge of God’s love revealed in Jesus (1 Jn. 4). Castle Hill Church will centre the life of the community around the gospel of grace so as to encourage worship and devotion to God and affection within the ‘family of faith’ (Gal. 6).

GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

As Jesus sent his disciples out into the world, he did not leave them alone but sent his Spirit (Jn. 14). It is only by the Holy Spirit that we can know Jesus as “Lord” (1 Cor. 12:3) and God as “Father” (Rom. 8:15). The Spirit is given to form (Gal. 5) and empower the Church (1 Cor. 12). For this reason, Castle Hill Church is determined to keep ‘in-step’ with the Spirit of God.

SHAPED BY SCRIPTURE

The Spirit has not left the Church without guidance but has inspired the Holy Scriptures. Though Christian tradition and other sources of knowledge are useful to the Church, the Scriptures are the first and final authority for life and faith. Castle Hill Church is determined to be shaped by the Bible through the preached Word, encouragement of personal devotion and the organisation of church life around its teaching.

WORKING FOR THE WELFARE OF NEW ADDINGTON

Scripture does not leave us without responsibility but prophetically leads and shapes the Church in its missional context. In the formation of Castle Hill Church, the founding leaders felt Jeremiah 29:7 was important for its vision and mission. For this reason, Castle Hill Church is determined to collaborate with other churches and organisations for the welfare of New Addington.
